For me, returning to Düsseldorf is always a touch of relaxation, like at the Rive Spa at the Hyatt Hotel. I meet my family and old friends again, go for a walk along the Rhine and unwind a bit. Since I regularly have a lot of appointments at the Medienhafen in Düsseldorf, the Hyatt Hotel Düsseldorf has become a second home for me. It is easy to arrive, the perfect location and for me especially short distances to appointments in the area. Plus a perfect lounge, for me one of the best breakfasts in a hotel in Germany and friendly staff.
Hyatt Hotel – Rive Spa and Fitness
Even though I already used the hotel’s fitness center a few times during my stay and ran countless kilometers on the cross trainers, relaxed in the sauna or the steam bath, I have not yet used the other areas of the Rive Spa.
The location fantastically located on the second floor, the treatment rooms and relaxation rooms with a direct view of the Media Harbor (without being visible) and the world-famous TV tower in the immediate vicinity.
I just arrive and immediately feel at ease. You immediately notice how quickly the body switches off, you forget the stress of everyday life once and just want to relax.
On my visit this time to the Rive Spa of the Hyatt Regency Hotel Düsseldorf, I had decided, together with a friend, to have a “girls’ day”. After a few turbulent days and lots of appointments, we wanted to recharge our batteries, head straight to the Rive Spa’s wellness area in our bathrobes and then enjoy some time together.
Especially in your own city, you do it far too rarely, just go to the spa once or spend a night in the hotel and find time to share. Even though it is more common at the Hyatt Düsseldorf Hotel for people to “vacation in their own city” especially on weekends, it is always a touch unusual for me as a former Düsseldorf resident.
If you look at the brochure of the spa area Rive Spa already on the website, you notice the great coordination and tranquility that the wellness area should radiate and everything revolves around the element of water. I’ve been posting more often lately about relaxing with the help of the elements, and water is something I can always relate to directly.
I notice with my body immediately if I have drunk too little. You can see it directly on me, the skin looks exhausted and flabby and I am far from being as active and fit. Water is crucial for the blood circulation of the body and also for the cell metabolism. If you drink too little, you notice it with a sluggishness of the body.
Even if you are on the go a lot during stressful days, but make sure you drink enough fluids in the form of water and light meals, you will be able to get through these days much better and then treat yourself to a reward, for example with your best friend, at a spa treatment or a couple treatment.
When you browse through the Rive Spa brochure, you see many offers, but your own needs and desires of the guests are in the foreground. One selects the desired directions, such as drawing strength, relaxation, switching off or special skin results and then together with the staff finds the perfect active ingredients, gentle scents and can look forward to their own ritual.
Rive Spa in Düsseldorf – Couple Treatment
If you don’t see each other that often due to work or distance, a Couple Treatment with your best friend is always a great option. Of course, such an offer can also be used with the spouse and is suitable as a special gift idea for a birthday, wedding anniversary or even Christmas. Thinking of other people and giving away recreation is always a great experience.
Our time out began with a friendly welcome from the Rive Spa on the second floor of the hotel, which is also available to non-hotel guests. Of course, those arriving in their own cars can stay in the hotel’s underground parking garage and from there take the elevator comfortably and directly to the spa area.
After the usual questionnaire for the treatment (such as allergies or how intense the massage should be), we were led into the bright and friendly treatment room by the staff.
I just always like it when you have daylight, the rooms are bright and friendly. Already when entering the premises was a pleasant scent, the bath water in its own whirlpool already soaked, candles distributed and smoothies already placed on the edge of the large whirlpool. This is how a wellness day can start for me, plus enough towels, soft music in the background and first 30 minutes of time to talk, relax in the tub and at the same time talk about the last few weeks.
What I noticed immediately very pleasant, the Rive Spa staff have already in advance always explained how it goes on afterwards. There is no unnecessary rush, everything remains relaxed and you can enjoy the time. After 30 minutes, a cautious knock on the door, a hint that you are welcome to shower off now and you would come back in 10-15 minutes. The discretion is maintained and yet you are treated very caring.
What I found very enjoyable about my “The Couple’s Spa Experience” was the time allotments. 30 minutes of time in the whirlpool is well defined, the water also pleasantly warm for a long time, and then enough time for a shower.
Afterwards we were allowed to look forward to a peeling with sugar and roses and I always find peelings very pleasant, especially in the summer months. You always feel fresh and free again directly after a peeling and can simply switch off perfectly.
The peeling was combined with a “Caviar Body Wrap” in which the body was added valuable moisture and many nutrients. Especially when you are stressed a lot, the skin is exposed to the sun in the summer or the dry air indoors in the winter, you immediately notice how the moisture is absorbed and the skin gets a beautiful appearance.
At the end of the dreamlike treatment, a massage was of course not missing and I prefer an intensive treatment, especially the usual problem regions (shoulder/neck) and was on the one hand very satisfied with the application, but especially with the way I was treated and my wishes during the massage. Emphasis was placed as desired, attention was paid to calmness without ever neglecting the care.
The finale of the almost three-hour treatment was then a nice fruit plate, drinks as desired and the beautiful view once again of Düsseldorf. We enjoyed the time and tranquility and ended the afternoon at the DOX Bar.
It just feels incredibly good when you see good friends again and treat yourself to time out together, recover together and enjoy togetherness.
Conclusion – Rive Spa in Düsseldorf – relaxation and wellness
I have already been able to enjoy many spa treatments in recent years and have had some great experiences in selected wellness hotels. Since I already know the Hyatt Hotel Düsseldorf from various stays, love the DOX restaurant as well as the rooms and suites, and the club area very much, my expectations were already relatively high.
Looking back now with a few days distance on the time with the best friend in the Rive Spa of the Hyatt Hotel Düsseldorf, I must say that my expectations were in many ways, more than exceeded.
It was an absolutely perfect spa experience from start to finish, where I would not want to change a single point or where one would wish for a little more care and concern. The staff at Rive Spa were very attentive without being intrusive. The guest’s well-being was an absolute priority and the techniques used, massage points and timing were also very well coordinated.
On my blogs, it is the first time in the last eight years that I can absolutely – without reservation – recommend a spa treatment in Germany. A perfect experience in a beautiful location with very friendly staff.
For me, it will certainly not have been the last treatment there and I look forward to seeing you again in the coming weeks.
