Berlin Classics and experience luxury with the Regent Berlin Hotel. I no longer know how many times I have been to Berlin and yet I look forward to the new every time – to a Berlin visit. When the Berlin Classics program then also looks so inviting and luxurious, one looks forward twice. In the last few days I was invited to the German capital with a small group of luxury bloggers and Instagrammers and got to experience Berlin once again from a different side. The host for the event was the 5-star superior hotel Regent BERLIN – located directly at the Gendarmenmarkt.
If you follow my Instagram channel, you will have seen how much I enjoyed the flight with AirBerlin to the Berlin Classics – even though it is only a short flight each time from Munich to the German capital, you just always enjoy being above the clouds. It’s just extremely convenient and, above all, very fast if you’re a member of the Topbonus program and are therefore allowed to use priority check-in and also don’t have to be at check-in until just before the flight. Quickly through the fast lane at the security check-in and the flight to Berlin can start.
For me, a flight with AirBerlin always has the perfect ending… a chocolate heart from Lindt. I don’t know how many of the hearts I’ve already eaten in recent years, but that’s how a flight always ends for me and you still look forward to it.
After a short transfer, I was right at the Regent Hotel and received a very friendly welcome from the staff. When you enter the lobby of the Regent Berlin Hotel, you can already see the high-quality materials and the great coordinated interior. You just feel right at home and at the latest when I entered my room and enjoyed the view, I had arrived.
Wide window sills, which you can also use perfectly for sitting in the evening, plus the view of the Gendarmenmarkt and the French Cathedral – bright blue sky and the perfect weather for a first little city stroll through Friedrichstraße, Französische Straße and of course “Unter den Linden”. Berlin for me also always means a piece of freedom – enjoy the city, let the tourists affect you and just do the things you just feel like.
After a short rest with sweet delicacies, the reception in the courtyard of the hotel was on the agenda. It’s again these places where you can sit for hours with friends, stop by for a refreshing lemonade in the afternoon or a glass of champagne in the evening that I enjoy so much. It’s just part of summer in the cities for me and gives a great opportunity to get to know the other bloggers and Instagrammers a bit, as well as the staff of the hotel and the hotel director Stefan Athmann.
BERLIN CLASSICS – REGENT Berlin – 2-star restaurant “Fischers Fritz”.
The dinner before the Berlin Classics could not have been more fitting – in the 2-star Michelin restaurant, the Regent Berlin welcomed the guests and prepared a very nice and well coordinated 3-course menu, creating a special creation for each guest.
The large round table not only gave a good opportunity to get to know each other a little better, but also to get a feel for what guests can expect in the oldest 2-star restaurant in Berlin.
If you look at the various restaurants in Berlin in recent years, the “Fischers Fritz” and the cuisine of Christian Lohse is always highlighted. I can very well imagine to present the restaurant and the concept to you again in detail, because here again – “it must taste”.
In today’s world, I find it very important that fine-dining offers in particular are not experiments, but offer a cuisine that includes edible dishes in addition to high-quality ingredients.
Christian Lohse and his kitchen team succeeded again that evening in offering good service and showing a small cross-section of the cuisine. The “Fischers Fritz” with a view of the French Cathedral is definitely one of the star restaurants in the capital that you should take a closer look at.
BERLIN CLASSICS – REGENT Berlin – Experience the Capital with “Visit Berlin
After I have already presented to you a few months ago once a graffiti tour in Berlin and could show exactly the contrast to my luxury blog, this city tour was planned more on Berlin Classics classics – but also the factor Fashion and thus there were also for me still some places that were unknown. It is just always interesting to see how quickly the capital is changing, where suddenly construction sites are, where new buildings have been built and where is planned for the future.
The Berlin City Palace across from the Berlin Cathedral is taking more and more final shape, the Museum Island continues to change greatly and is being expanded more and more (completion after 2025) and then there are small boutiques that would have been overlooked during a walk. Special concept stores or flagship stores of well-known brands everywhere, which have made it their business to adapt to the Berlin cityscape and show the collections in other ways. That’s how I like Berlin.
It is always an advantage to have a city guide (instead of a book or a Top 10 Berlin list) who knows the little secrets of the capital and can, for example, once show the bridal fashion offer of Kaviar Gauche. Alone in the store you could have spent hours as a woman and certainly tried on one or the other dress gladly. A particularly elegant and feminine fashion, which would again fit my fashion style.
I will certainly experience some more city tours in Berlin in the future and look forward to every other tour. Berlin is simply a city that you can visit several times a year and discover something new every day. It’s just fun then to be able to share those experiences with a great group of bloggers and Instagrammers and the staff at the Regent Berlin Hotel.
Galeries LaFayette – “Sushi Lunch” during Berlin Classics.
What better way to end a Berlin Classics fashion sightseeing tour than with a visit to the world famous Galeries LaFayette, the shopping temple on Friedrichstraße in Berlin. Located on the opposite side of the hotel and therefore perfectly accessible, for a few new cosmetic products, new designer clothes or even special handbags and sunglasses. The Galeries LaFayette belong for me to a Berlin Classics visit simply again and again to the mandatory program. Often there are good sales and a very good selection of well-known designers.
My first visit these days, however, was the special lunch, which was selected for us as the conclusion of the sightseeing tour through Berlin. Those who regularly read my food blog Food & Highheels will surely have already lain the report about “SUSHI-Lunch at Galeries LaFayette”, where I already introduced you to the different sushi creations of the chefs of SUSHI Daily.
I did not expect to find such a good SUSHI in the capital and to be spoiled by a very friendly team with good service. It will certainly not be my last visit to SUSHI Daily, the various creations on the menu sounded just too delicious… and SUSHI as a sweet dessert has something tempting, too…
Who knows me, knows with desserts it is always a little difficult to say no. After many long and good conversations, it was then back to the hotel, where I used the time for a few photo shoots, which I will certainly present to you in the next few days in more detail on the blog.
Dinner at Borchardt – Berlin Classics VIP
If one speaks in Berlin of a restaurant in Berlin-Mitte, again directly called the Borchardt. The Berlin Classics Borchardt is simply considered one of the celebrity meeting places in the capital and also many musicians, actors and international VIPs often go to the Borchardt after the Berlinale, Fashionweek or other major events in the capital. The restaurant simply manages to create a special atmosphere, combining special cuisine with classics.
In addition to the countless seating options indoors, the courtyard at Borchardt is of course ideal, especially in the summer months. Warm temperatures, delicious food and to simply sit together with guests and friends and let the day end in the capital with a glass of good wine, good champagne or even fresh non-alcoholic cocktails.
The selection of dishes as mixed as the guests. From a Caeser Salad, to the XXL Wiener Schnitzel (depending on the season, for example, also with chanterelles), to fresh tartar. But also who is looking for special meat or fish, has chosen a good address with the Borchardt. Thus 1100 gram Tomahawk steaks and T-bone steaks can be found on the menu, as well as dishes with shrimp. During my visit with the Regent Berlin group to Borchardt on Französische Straße, I wanted to try the classics first. Wiener schnitzel and tartare, and for dessert, a crème brûlée.
I’m sure it was certainly not the last visit to Borchardt in Berlin and I will certainly introduce you to the restaurant in more detail in the future and then also perhaps report on the “1OG”, the special upper floor in Borchardt. It was a nice impression and a perfect end to a great Berlin Classics evening…
REGENT Berlin – Breakfast at the hotel
Even though I’m not a typical early riser, I enjoy being able to spend the day with a long breakfast in the hotel restaurant or even in-room dining in bed in my hotel room.
The reputation of the breakfast is well known throughout Berlin and anyone you approach will ask directly about the Eggs Benedict that are available at the Regent Berlin. In addition to fresh Belgian waffles, French toast and various omelets and egg options, the Eggs Benedict with salmon or ham are simply a highlight that you should have tried.
I started once a few years ago, as soon as Eggs Benedict are on the menu at breakfast, to try them and experienced the most diverse interpretations. The Eggs Benedict served at Fischers Fritz Restaurant at Regent Berlin are definitely among my favorites and will certainly be chosen again on my next visit to Regent Berlin.
What is immediately noticeable at breakfast is the international orientation of the hotel and also the breakfast that is tailored to this. For Asian guests, there is a special breakfast with miso soup and various Asian delicacies, who wants it particularly luxurious, also gets a special offer for this. Every guest is thought of and every wish is tried to be fulfilled immediately. It is simply fun to start the day this way and you automatically get in a good mood.
Wellness and cosmetics at BABOR
What better way to end a Berlin Classics event than with a relaxing beauty and cosmetic treatment at BABOR, right next to Borchardt and across from Galeries LaFayette. BABOR has been known for luxurious cosmetics for over sixty years and opened the beauty institute in Berlin in November 2015.
For the bloggers and Instagrammers, the nice staff prepared the BABOR Fresh Up Treatment and so you could really enjoy the day relaxing after breakfast.
There are different types of treatments in the 60-minute cosmetic program and also many tips on skin care, especially in the summer months. Personally, I always find it very important in cosmetic treatments and spa treatments that a very pleasant climate is offered and you can immediately feel comfortable as a guest.
The facility, the friendly staff and the selected treatment have offered the days in Berlin once again a perfect conclusion and it will certainly not be my last Berlin Classics visit to a beauty institute of BABOR in Germany.
BERLIN CLASSICS – REGENT Berlin – CONCLUSION
The Berlin Classics by the Regent Berlin Hotel with the various partners were a nice time out during the summer months. All the staff simply succeeded in taking the enthusiasm that I had myself as a blogger and together conveyed unforgettable days with a beautiful program.
Berlin Classics from 2-star restaurant to Wiener Schnitzel, from SUSHI lunch with selected creations to bridal fashion and special fashion stores – everything was represented in the Berlin capital and was incredibly fun, not only to meet the bloggers and Instagrammers in person, but also to be so pampered by the staff of the Regent Hotel Berlin and the partners (topbonus airberlin, airberlin, Visit Berlin, Galeries LaFayette and Babor).
Returning to the room at the Regent Berlin Hotel as a blogger, there was always a new surprise, but you probably saw that LIVE on Snapchat, where I took you straight to the Berlin Classics.
BERLIN CLASSICS – One last word.
While I’m sitting at the moment at the airport Berlin Tegel waiting for my onward flight and writing this blogpost, the circle closes for me again and I’m looking forward to a pleasant return flight with airberlin and my “Lindt chocolate heart”, which will then be eaten as a last reminder of the beautiful Berlin Classics days this evening before “going to bed”.
