The luxury hotel Sani Resort with sustainability, its own marina, a kilometer-long sandy beach, its own nature reserve and bird sanctuary, 5-star category and then also awarded by Tripadvisor, that there is certainly somewhere on an island in the Indian Ocean, but certainly not just two hours by plane from Germany. There is this paradise and is called “SANI Resort” and yet is somewhat atypical for Greece.
Sani Resort Greece – The Location
Unlike many hotels in Greece, the Sani Resort is not located on Crete, Rhodes or Kos, but on the Greek mainland, more precisely, only about 80 kilometers from Thessaloniki airport and offers a good first impression with the free limousine shuttle service (for guests staying min. 5 nights) directly at the airport.
No searching for the tourist bus of one of the tour operators, but friendly staff who take the guests directly to the limousines. In the limousine of course WiFi available free of charge, as well as soft drinks, so the visit can begin. The driving time, just 50 minutes from the airport, on the Halkidiki peninsula to Kassandra, the westernmost, of the three tips of the island jutting into the sea.
Sani Resort Greece – 4 Hotels – 1 Resort
Upon arrival at Sani Resort, one notices on the one hand the enthusiasm of the people, everyone wants to be allowed to work for “SANI” and on the other hand the size of the different hotels. In spite of the 800 rooms, which are spread over 1.5 kilometers on the beach in four hotels, you don’t have the feeling that it could get crowded on the beach or in the hotel restaurant. An XXL complex perfectly integrated into the landscape and nature and above all – practically built and thought of the target groups.
It is not often that different groups of guests – (families with children, couples looking for luxury, vacationers of short distances, boat friends and club guests) can spend their vacation so peacefully next to each other, can use all facilities together and there is still enough space for everyone.
The SANI resorts consist of four different resorts, so that for each guest is really the “perfect” hotel in the complex and I have looked at all the hotels during the days and can say, here you can spend much longer than a week.
SANI Beach Hotel
The SANI Beach Hotel is the “classic” and the first hotel in the Sani Resort. Built in the middle of the 80’s, it was expanded and adapted to the current wishes of the guests. Even this year, the desire for larger rooms and suites was again met and the family suites introduced, which offers a separate bedroom for children, for example, a common large living room, as well as a large sleeping area for parents, each with its own bathroom. From the SANI Beach Hotel and the new family suites you also have a view of the beautiful new infinity pool, as well as the first restaurants. In total you will find 380 rooms of different sizes and types at the SANI Beach Hotel.
SANI Beach Club
The SANI Beach Club is the active family hotel on the other side of the private bay and offers besides fantastic rooms with a great view over the Aegean Sea also a large sports program, such as the diving center, a large gym and of course with such an activity program also a large spa and wellness area. In total, the SANI Beach Club has 205 rooms, which are distributed over the large complex. When you arrive at this club in Sani Resort, you know your vacation is about to begin, ancient olive trees, along with the scent of pine trees and the gentle sound of the sea. PORTO SANI Village
The PORTO SANI Village is very spacious with the 100 rooms in the maximum 2-story small buildings on the complex and is grouped around the XXL pool landscape with probably the most comfortable loungers I have ever seen in a hotel. The desire of the hotel director, the guests should feel comfortable in every place of the hotel and especially where much time of the vacation is spent, is shown here figuratively. Dreamlike! The space in the hotel located directly behind the resort’s own marina is generously proportioned and also in the rooms and suites, great importance was attached to practical, but also homely aspects. Almost all rooms have a separate living/sleeping area, the suites for families have two sleeping areas and a bathroom area with deeper faucets, etc.. – nice thought! A special feature in this complex is the spacious garden, which is located on the first floor of each of the suites and where expressly also with the children to play – (playing football in the private hotel garden – has what!)
SANI Asterias Suites
The most luxurious and smallest hotel of the resort are the SANI Asterias Suites, which on the one hand have a private beach and are protected within the resort. It is not without reason that this hotel is booked again and again in combination with its own marina. Many guests enjoy the gourmet restaurant, where you are spoiled by star chefs and of course the short distances of the resort, to the private harbor. Many guests moor by boat and then let themselves be pampered for a few days in the suites, which of course, again have family suites with large terraces or balconies, their own children’s rooms and very high quality furnishings. The only 48 suites contribute to a quiet atmosphere and a guaranteed relaxation in the Sani Resort vacation and of course you can also use the various entertainment facilities of the entire complex and all restaurants.
SANI RESORT Greece – 17 Restaurants
In SANI RESORT Greece, a total of 17 restaurants are available to the hotel guests in all four hotels, among which the hotel guests can choose at any time. To the choice are on the one hand half-board dishes between four-course menu, which are arranged for the guests or different A-la-carte dishes. One of my recommendations for a nice summer evening, is the Grill-by-the-Pool, which I have also presented to you separately.
You will also find a great selection for breakfast, whether buffet restaurants or a beautiful restaurant, directly on the beach, the rising sun, the light, warm wind and in addition the fantastically arranged dishes and the good service. Definitely try the Ammos Restaurant!
Birdwatching & Sustainability
Often the definition of nature conservation and low water consumption in a hotel is a good advertising slogan, in SANI Resort this is actively implemented and above all shown to the guests. I don’t know many “vacation hotels” that offer tours to the surrounding nature reserves to the guests and have their own guide for this, who explains to the guests which bird species is breeding there at the moment. I took the “Birdwatching” tour in the late afternoon on one day of my stay and was absolutely fascinated. It’s hard to believe that just a few minutes walk from the hotel there is such a large nature reserve and you can also walk along miles of pristine sandy beach. Conclusion – SANI RESORT Greece
Actually I don’t have to write a conclusion about the Sani Resort Hotel, because if you have read all my reports about the house, you can already guess how much I liked it. I was allowed to spend a longer period of time in the region of Chalkidiki and was also a little suspicious at first to examine a “family resort”, which is ranked 22nd worldwide(!) on Tripadvisor.
Actually, I’m more the person for boutique hotels, designer hotels or of course the famous luxury hotels of the various hotel chains with 5 stars, but this request was just too nicely kept and had aroused my interest. Even before departure I was positively enthusiastic about the internet presentation at Sani-Resort.com, very informative and high quality and the announcement – free internet in the whole resort, should really be true. I had a speedy connection in all days, without problems and could thus share the pictures in the social networks throughout. Unfortunately, still a rarity, but here a nice experience.
What convinced me completely, however, were the employees of the house, who were always eager and very friendly and tried to make the “vacation” for the guest particularly good and also pay attention to little things and this in really all departments!
In addition, there is an extremely impressive condition of the Sani Resort rooms (in all buildings), as well as the public areas, which is rather a rarity, especially in vacation hotels. If you hadn’t known how long the hotel has been around, you would have thought it was a new hotel project that had just opened.
For me, the experience at SANI Resort in Greece was a new one to review a family resort, but I would visit this hotel again in a heartbeat, for a few days – or even a few weeks – and am already looking forward to the next stay. Maybe I will meet you directly at the next music festival – or at the gourmet festival.
