Insight into the Madrid top 10 restaurants for tapas and sweets, what you must have tried in Spain. After I gave you yesterday already an insight to the different fashion designers from Madrid, I would like to present you today the Madrid Top 10 restaurants or bars and clubs of Madrid, or stores where you should have eaten something once to be able to experience Madrid accordingly.
Madrid Top 10 restaurants
Forgo your breakfast, for example, if you are at the Hotel Vincci Capitol and start with a typical Spanish pastry, the ideal place to go for this is the first of my Madrid Top 10 Restaurants…
Pastelería El Riojano
Located at C. Mayor, 10, 28012 Madrid…. Perfect with the ready-to-drink chocolate and some pastries to start the day slowly.
La Violeta
Then for a little stopover, a historic candy store from 1915 (!) – called – La Violeta – in Plaza de Canalejas, 6, Madrid, with natural products, is recommended and especially worth seeing. Historical highlight of my Madrid Top 10 Restaurants….
Antigua Pastelería del Pozo
After that, it’s also time to try some pastries and the first hot dishes, like at Antigua Pastelería del Pozo at C. Pozo, 8, 28012 Madrid. With a little luck you can see how the Spanish Christmas pastry is produced and how many people pick it up a few days before Christmas. I was in Madrid on 12/20 and the store was very busy 🙂
Casa Mira
When you think of Madrid, besides football and fashion, of course you think of Turron – the special dessert made of nougat, almonds, egg white, honey and sugar and also a good memory and “souvenir” from your Madrid stay. Turron is offered in different flavors, mostly in flat bars. The Turron location in Madrid is Casa Mira at Carrera de San Jerónimo, 30, 28014 Madrid.
LHardy
LHardy at Carrera de San Jerónimo 8, Madrid, puts a smile on the face of many Madrilenians. A good cuisine, selected restaurant and even more beautiful, the stories about the royal families and celebrities. The entrance area extremely crowded at lunchtime, but warm soups, desserts and small dishes … definitely worth a visit, just because of the different rooms upstairs!
La Casa del Abuelo
If it’s seafood, lots of garlic and a simple but quaint atmosphere you’re after, you should visit La Casa del Abuelo for some tapas and snacks, located at C. Victoria, 12, Madrid – and the meeting place of many Spaniards. Shrimp in garlic sauce are definitely worth a visit and make enough room on the flight back from Madrid in the evening 🙂
Taberna de Antonio Sanchez
If you like it a bit more hearty and also want to try the popular “offal” (not my cup of tea), you should try the Taberna de Antonio Sanchez in the Calle del Mesón de Paredes. Special Spanish specialties and many high-proof drinks.
Chocolateria San Gines
Spain without churros is not possible – and a churros store in the city center, which is open 24 hours, is located next to a popular club and is also relatively cheap, can only be a recommendation… The “Chocolateria San Gines” in the Pasadizo San Ginés, 5, 28013 Madrid, is a bit hidden in the side street, but either follow the queue in front of the door or you are lucky and get a seat right away… Recommended (as you can see from my picture) 🙂 A Must Visit of my Madrid Top 10 Restaurants…
Café de Chinitas
If you want to experience Madrid, you need an evening with Flamenco, and maybe a good glass of wine, a small portion of tapas and a small Flamenco show… – Also hidden again is the Café de Chinitas, in the C. Torija, 7, 28013 Madrid. Two shows take place each evening, reservations are possible. The audience is mixed, partly businessmen after work, tourists and small groups.
ME Madrid Hotel
The conclusion, with a nice cocktail may actually only take place above the rooftops of Madrid. The 9th floor in the city center is a good start and the location the “ME Madrid Hotel” – in the Pl. de Santa Ana, 14, 28012 Madrid. Even in winter under radiant heaters a cozy location – in summer with the late sunsets a dream tip of my Madrid Top 10 Restaurants.
Mallorca
Even though it should be the Madrid Top 10 Restaurants, the “Mallorca” in C. Velázquez, 57 also belongs on this list. Perfect for a midday snack, a few desserts or hearty asparagus spears (see above) – this is where businessman and pensioner, best ager and yuppie meet. A must-visit in Madrid!
Conclusion – Madrid Top 10 Restaurants for Tapas and Sweets
As you can see, these are just a few examples and my personal Madrid Top 10 Restaurants in the “Culinary” section, but you will surely find more favorites once you visit Madrid. I enjoyed it and I’m already looking forward to seeing you again in one of my Madrid Top 10 Restaurants…. To conclude my reports from Madrid, I will show you some sights on my luxury travel blog in the next few days…
