Behind with lies the Fashion Week Berlin and I am sure that every fashion-interested visitor has his own week with many highlights and some special features behind him. It met at Fashion Week Berlin again everything in Berlin, which has the focus “fashion” in life, whether bloggers, journalists, photographers, buyers, PR agencies, designers, models, It-Girls, celebrities, YouTuber, Instagrammer, Influencer or just curious.
I always find it exciting because none of the past Fashion Week Berlin fashion weeks resemble the previous one, even though the events were basically the same. For me, I always try to put together a mix of runway events, showroom visits, beauty lounges and blogger events. Always exciting what and who you then meet in Berlin. My first Fashion Week Berlin impression you could already read in my last weekly review and you notice, it was again very informative…
The biggest challenge is to reach the different locations in time for different Fashion Week Berlin events. There are many different event locations and different events, catwalks and parties, as well as fairs, so that there is exactly the right thing for everyone. Everyone who wants to, finds his niche and so I have also sought my way through the Fashion Week Berlin.
Fashion Week Berlin Hotel, High Fashion Dresses & Jewelry
In advance, it is about the exact planning and if the plan for the various Fashion Week Berlin shows comes out only at short notice, then it can come from time to time already once overlaps to already scheduled events. Nevertheless, it is tried to plan as well as possible.
For me, my hotel was once again an absolute stroke of luck, because I was again accommodated in the Adlon Hotel at the Brandenburg Gate. Even if the Fashion Week tent is no longer set up there virtually on the doorstep, the hotel remains the perfect retreat and serves quite often as a grandiose photo backdrop.
So I have uploaded from my suite also immediately many pictures on Instagram and taken you anyway on Instagram Stories almost real. From the view of Pariser Platz, which I showed you several times deserted, I just can not get enough. As beautiful as the view, was also the warm welcome with flowers, fruit, chocolate and various juices. Just wonderful to be welcomed like that!
But also my outfits for the Fashion Week Berlin were this time even more precisely pre-planned than usual. I picked out three beautiful high fashion evening dresses at Olvis in advance to wear for the different shows and events. It was lucky that all the dresses really fit perfectly, since I couldn’t try them on beforehand. Of course, I still had classic alternatives in my suitcase just to be on the safe side. What a great luxury, which I really enjoyed very much…
I have already presented the black lace dress as a lookbook on my blog and also this look was created in the wonderful hotel suite. But also my jewelry was quite thoughtfully chosen this year, because I combined different bangles from Les Georgettes to my dresses and outfits. A practical system with quick color change, which I will introduce to you very soon in more detail.
MBFWB Catwalk
The temporary Fashion Week Berlin replacement location to the white tent was also this season the old Kaufhaus Jandorf. Trying to make the original department store the center of fashion again this year was a challenge for designers, visitors and on-site security.
Everywhere you look you see the typical Berlin chic with peeling walls and a lot of “provisional”. At the backstage entrance, visitors are greeted by a dripping air conditioning unit and then a ramshackle stairwell. The make-up area and the changing rooms are located on the third floor, as is the catwalk. It looks chaotic and provisional – does one really expect high class fashion here?
Ewa Herzog – Fashion Week Berlin
My first fashion show this year was the Fashion Week Berlin show by Ewa Herzog. Even before the show started, you could tell that the organizers were under a lot of tension and that pre-planned agreements could not be kept. I like to think back to my interview with Ewa Herzog and the backstage moments of that time – not to compare with today.
The “SHOW SS2018 – No 11” showed again a lot of lace. Ewa Herzog is known for that – but much more important than the fashion were the photographers to take the best photos of the typical celebrities in the front row. The first Fashion Week Berlin show is always the most important, because you have to deliver good pictures quickly. A spectacle around the typical “stars” like Massimo Sinato and this time Gil Ofarim and Ekaterina Leonova.
Rebekka Ruétz – Backstage Fashion Week
Mega interesting were the impressions I got backstage and during the Fashion Week Berlin show of Rebekka Ruétz. Here are tons of great photos were taken, so I will write a detailed report on my blog here. Rebekka herself quite relaxed and wonderfully natural, even just before the show.
The whole team super nice and warm, where you could tell they were really happy about the interest. In addition, there were perfect front row seats at the Fashion Week Berlin catwalk. I don’t need Front Row for my ego, but I’m happy when I can take great photos and videos of the whole look there, instead of just seeing the upper bodies. No blogger likes to publish press pictures. So I’m looking forward to show more of my own pictures from the “Cosmic Fashion Show” soon.
Anja Gockel – Berlin Adlon Hotel
In the elevator to the fashion show? Yes, that’s the perfect solution and only works if you are staying at the Adlon Hotel for example and there is a Fashion Show in the lobby of the Adlon Hotel. This was the case again this season with Anja Gockel’s show. Under the motto Vincent van Gogh there was a lot of creativity to see.
The backdrop in the lobby of the Kempinski Hotel was the most glamorous location of Fashion Week Berlin. My skin colored long lace dress matched the location perfectly. The fashion on the runway was bold, confident and characterized by a crazy mix of styles. Even though at first glance it didn’t seem as wearable as the previous collection, looking at the creative fashion was a lot of fun though.
After the Fashion Week Berlin show, I was allowed to end the evening with Anja Gockel and her great guests at the after show party on the terrace of the Quarre restaurant overlooking the Brandenburg Gate. I caught a spot right by the temporary Chanel Cafe where you could get your lips touched up – very convenient.
Fashion Collection Presentation – Private Event
Smaller more private collections were presented in a pleasant atmosphere. Here it is then about closeness and authenticity. Models and collections that you are allowed to look at in peace. Wonderfully playful and relaxed I was allowed to be present at a presentation at the Hotel de Rome. Due to a typical Fashion Week Berlin rain shower, the location was spontaneously moved from the gorgeous roof terrace to a pretty interior.
Aybi – Aysen Bitzer
Aybi is a new fashion label under Aysen Bitzer with the strengths in blouses and dresses that look authentic and beautiful. She focuses on strong women and a tribute to femininity. For the current collection, the theme was Snow White with support from Disney. Strong, feminine, playful, Snow White – all words that I myself often encounter and thus of course absolutely worth a visit.
Aysen Bitzer shows between red glazed apples the theme of “passion” through contrasts. Playful and strict at the same time through cut and print, as well as fabrics like silk, cotton and summer cashmere. Casual and sensual shapes with focus on the waist.
Colors that look coherent through the perfect mix: strong tones – Fiery Red, Flame, Absinthe Green. Soft powdery tones: Grape Shake, Heavenly Pink and summer accents by: Blazing Yellow and Marina. At the latest at this Fashion Week Berlin event, it became clear that next summer will be exciting or confident and relaxed.
Blogger Events & Beauty Lounge & Showrooms
While it is a little more hurried at the fashion shows and presentations, so you come at various side events of Fashion Week Berlin a little more to rest and can be shown new products and introduce themselves agencies or brands unconstrained. But also short conversations with other bloggers are always nice at the blogger events.
FashionBloggerCafe #FBCTHEBEACH
The most famous event during Fashion Week Berlin has been the Fashion Blogger Cafe for years. In recent times, however, you can no longer find all bloggers there at the same time, because they select more precisely in advance. The “important” influencers are separated from the “normal” bloggers and influencers in terms of time, which does not please everyone – but I also met many “non-fashion bloggers”. This season the location was a beach club and I was glad I found my way despite my high heels.
Anuthida Ploypetch (known from GNTM) and Erik Scholz (Male Fashion Instagramer) gave a workshop and a round table talk respectively about Instagram. Under the motto “How to create a perfect Instagram account” so many questions could be asked. From whom probably the most curious questions came? Should I do another workshop and talk of my own for Instagram and bloggers after all?
I would have liked to stay for the workshop for the perfect Pinterest use of Anna Neumann (Community Marketing Manager DACH), but the next fashion show could not be postponed. Nice that Styleranking again mixed a great location with interesting people. Did you know that P2 cosmetics are no longer available in drugstores, but only directly in the online store?
HashMAG Blogger Lounge
Meanwhile, the blogger event of HashMAG during Fashion Week Berlin has also become an important part of the Blogger Fashion Week. This time the event took place in the “Große Freiheit” at Potsdamer Platz, where I had been before at a press event for the IFA and for the fitting of Michalsky.
At the latest here you meet Fashion Week Berlin bloggers that you already know offline or so far only online. But also old and new contacts to PR agencies and brands can be deepened here in peace. It’s always nice to meet the lovely girls from Bijou Brigitte, who also had a booth there this year.
However, I couldn’t pass by a Wonderwaffle with my name on it any more than I could pass by the Lidl Smoothie stand. For an individually embroidered eco C&A T-shirt my time was not enough, but for a look at the old familiar SebaMed products – and no, I “not” sat down on the unicorn horse from the magazine “girl” :).
Beauty Lounge – Beauty Suite – Fashion Week Berlin
Even though I had to cut my planned beauty time, I didn’t want to miss out on stopping by PR Sugar’s Beauty Lounge during Fashion Week Berlin. I’m always excited to learn about new products from fresh or old familiar companies. There are so great products that are simply not (yet) known and that’s where we bloggers just like to come into play.
One of the companies that won me over with fast-acting products was DALTON Marine Cosmetics. 40 years of experience in marine cosmetics with high compatibility, since we all come from the sea after evolution. Made in Germany for a product concept with few fragrances and pure care substances especially for problem skin, the cosmeceuticals.
The brand Celumer is known since 1989, “nee Make-up Milano” is responsible for the decorative cosmetics. Exciting I found the S.E.A. care concept for the protection of stem cells and to activate cell renewal. Interesting for my male readers, as there is also a Deep Sea Men Performance line. Facial care without leaving a greasy feeling or smelling intense.
Past the gorgeous evening gowns from Jasmin Erbas Couture and Miss Lashes eyebrow correction and eyelash extensions, I headed to my personal beauty appointment for hair styling. It’s always nice to have your hair turned up extra nice for events like Fashion Week.
Beautiful shiny curls conjured the team of Überwood in my hair. On request, they would have also made me a pretty braided hairstyle, but then I lack the typical girl or dirndl look for that. It should be matching my red lace dress then but rather large curls. How nice that you almost did not want to believe that I wear extensions, right? Once again, a love to Melina Best at this point.
Überwood primarily offers hair care products, such as a vegan build up shampoo and conditioner. A sustainable packaging that you can even feel, as it was partly produced from renewable domestic woods. Thus, antibacterial pine and softwoods save quite a bit of petroleum in packaging.
The power of pine is also the basic building block of the shampoo for healthy, well-groomed and strong hair. The family business Ewald from Thuringia has been close to nature for years and is currently right on trend.
Showroom – Fashion Week Berlin
In between I also took the time to visit a showroom of a PR agency during Fashion Week Berlin. I find it exciting to get an impression of completely different products in a short time. Even if some of them might not fit me or my blog, at least now I know how much I would like to have a bodysuit in adult size from the baby bodysuit Tom & Jenny. So soft and comfortable on the skin, it’s an instant hit.
Exciting for the future of all of us, will be the topic of “wellness and time for yourself”. Switch off from stressful everyday life with small energy sources, or retreats for body, mind and soul. SOUL ZEN is a new company that specializes in loving and beautiful products for women.
Whether you are looking for your dream catcher for home or on the go the right chakra jewelry. Even suitable skincare skin care is thought of and so everyone who wants can organize their very own retreat for more power.
The matching scented candles and room scents from Heart and Home also have a relaxing or invigorating effect. If you prefer to keep a close eye on the time and are into high-quality, as well as simple design, you may find your favorite in the current selection of Movado watches.
So if man is not quite so decisive when shopping and also does not like to stroll through the various stores, he can trust the experts at Outfittery. Maybe I’ll introduce you to the principle of the boxes in more detail soon, or at least you’ll think of me now when you see an Outfittery box somewhere. Maybe even at the airport in Zurich? 🙂
Let’s stay with the gentlemen for whom it is currently trendy to wear beard. The Brooklyn Soap Company offers all the care that a beard needs to look beautiful and well-groomed. Also, “The Wood” fragrance series is really pleasant and a really nice alternative to the usual scented waters for men.
Homemade chocolates and chocolate delicacies I am looking for now in Hamburg at Gleem. You can taste the natural and original, as well as the manual production of the sweet temptations and luxury chocolates, which did not taste typically sweet at all.
Several times I came across Koawach, which I have wanted to try since the “Höhle der Löwen” and have not yet managed to do so. Chocolate that makes you awake – yummy! I tried the ice chocolate variants in chocolate and mint and really liked them both. I’ve actually been a bit more awake afterwards, which is actually an art with cocoa.
I’m currently carrying home a wide variety of flavors for the hot chocolate variant and I’m excited to see how they taste. You can mix the powder with natural guarana and caffeine with milk, water or milk substitute depending on your preference. I’m definitely intrigued.
Goodie Bags Fashion Week Berlin
Goodie bags are important – also at this Fashion Week Berlin. However, it’s not just about “gifting” the visitors, but to carry the brand and the newly acquired “know how” further out. So you can see the bags as a thought-provoking, thank-you, appreciation and to test the products. There are no obligations and no agreements.
One looks forward to many products and would perhaps not have tried them at all, since one did not miss them so far. This is similar to the danger of products that you fall in love with abroad and then can’t easily get at home. Luckily, you can easily repurchase many of the products from the goodies.
I showed you some of these goodie bags in my Instagram Stories, but just not everything either. There was really a lot and some of it, while totally sweet, was also extremely impractical. By the way, the super important goodie bags of the Front Row are usually not really filled with value and are rather to be seen as a status object. So it is then also hyped by many as a trophy.
So I am looking forward to the meaningful things that are now in my luggage and say very sweet thanks to everyone who did not want to let me go without a goodie bag. I think everyone is just happy about the small attentions, but also about the good conversations in between. By the way, I didn’t even know I liked bulgur and probably would have never tried it…
Spring Summer 2018 FWB Fashion Week Berlin – Impression
Fashion for the coming summer will be flashy and relaxed at the same time. Wild and eye-catching patterns, as well as contrasts in patterns and cuts with asymmetry. There is nothing that does not exist. Those who are just thinking that they will probably never wear a pattern from their closet again because it is out of fashion, should rather wait for another summer and then combine it best with a similarly wild pattern.
It remains relaxed and yet it does not become boring. Transparency and wide cuts were seen more often than shorts or skirts. Pastel colors disappear almost completely or are combined with unusual colors and patterns. Jeans are also combined wildly. Self-confident and fashionable will be the summer for trendsetters. Fashion should not be beautiful, but become entertainment.
At the moment, I can’t really imagine pastel and white disappearing almost completely from our looks again. For my style, I suspect I’ll have a hard time finding clothes to get excited about in this trend round-up. But who knows, maybe I’ll surprise you and myself after all?
I am curious how it will now continue with the Fashion Week Berlin. After the main sponsor Mercedes Benz and organizer IMG have separated after ten successful years, the future remains uncertain, but also certainly interesting.
Summer 2017 was again a Fashion Week that could not have been better planned in advance. Usually it’s the unplanned moments that stick with you the longest anyway. An interesting week with a lot of input and many different people. I already had sore muscles from smiling on the first day and still I ask myself every year if it was not my last Fashion Week?
