Impression of the Ayurveda treatment with Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar. Whoever talks about wellness and health will automatically come into contact with the topic of Ayurveda and become interested in it. What was possible many years ago on special trips to India, Sri Lanka and Nepal, is increasingly offered in Germany. While in Asia this treatment is regarded as a healing art, in Europe the wellness and well-being effect is preferred. I was allowed to experience Ayurveda once in the last weeks and let Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar guide me.

Since a few weeks the topic Ayurveda has also arrived in Germany and I was allowed to get to know as one of the first guests, the special program of health and nutrition. Who knows me, knows that I am always open for new wellness and health ways and I was looking forward all the more after the experience in the Moorbad to my experience on the subject of Ayurveda.
You hear all sorts of things about Ayurveda treatment and an Ayurveda vacation. Is it a diet, is it an active sports program or rather a wellness treatment that you can simply enjoy? I was excited about my days at the Ayurveda treatment and the first contact with Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar.

As people’s stresses are quite different, the resort offers quite different programs, from one day with or without medical consultation, to 3-, 5- and 7-day stress-free programs, to individual Ayurveda cures with Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar.
These include Panchakarma, which is considered one of the most effective methods for cleansing and detoxifying the body to give the body new energy and balance.
How long the Panchakarma should be performed always depends on one’s condition and is discussed and planned together with the Ayurvedic doctor, the Vaidya, after the first consultation.
If one deals a little with the subject Ayurveda and the doctors, one notices immediately which external effect and expertise is attributed to the current Vaidya in the resort.
Anyone who has ever come into contact with Ayurveda will automatically have heard of Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar, and I too must admit that he immediately conveys a tremendous sense of calm and relaxation.
Respectfully, he is called everywhere just “the Vaidya” and has been at home since 2001 in various world-renowned Ayurveda hotels and Ayurveda clinics in German-speaking countries.
Since spring 2017, he now looks after the guests of the Gräflicher Park Grand Resort in Bad Driburg and explains in a pleasant way his knowledge and the various examinations.
The Vaidya was born in Cochin, India (state of Kerala), which is considered the home of Ayurveda and trained there by various experts since the late seventies. Even today, many tourists regularly travel to the region for time out and seek relaxation.
Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar is already practicing the traditional Keraliya Ayurveda in the sixth generation and prepares medicine and oils according to the treatment and explains special techniques and sets up a plan for nutrition.
Ayurveda with Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar – pulse diagnosis
Years ago I came in contact with pulse diagnosis during my reports on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and so is the examination with Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar.
The treatment rooms and the new Ayurveda center are located in the former steel bath house of the Gräflicher Park. The 14 treatment rooms radiate an appropriate calmness and for the first examination a couch and sufficient time are enough for Vaidya.
When you first come into contact with Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar, you are initially taken aback – tall, blond hair with curls and the familiar dark complexion. Admittedly, I would have imagined my first contact with a Vaidya quite differently and I was all the more pleasantly surprised.
Countless people trust the knowledge of the Vaidya and also I was fascinated after initial skepticism. Only the fingers are put on the pulse and through different pressure techniques and positions he can read the state of health in seven levels.
It is completely quiet, there is maybe once a short question about the state of health and when the last injury was and already it seems as if the Indian is in a trance – very fascinating to experience.
All the more noteworthy is the subsequent conclusion, after another look at the tongue and in the eyes. Many things that are not publicly known, intolerances to food, health histories in the family area or even illnesses in the last months “senses” the Vaidya and points it out.
The second part of the medical examination is then held in the regular office by the Vaidya and talks about the problems and what treatment methods are possible and how to pay attention to the diet.
I have learned many things for me, which substances I should better avoid and which foods are especially good for me. How it behaves with drinks and which “sweet sins” are allowed now and then I will certainly consider a little more in the future.
An initial examination and consultation usually takes between 60 minutes and up to three hours, and the further procedure is then discussed together. Further appointments are then coordinated by his wife Ingrun Weiß, who also coordinates the eight permanent employees.

For the culinary company of the Ayurveda stay in the count park Eckhard Fischer, which is considered with many books as one of the absolutely most recognized Ayurveda cooks in the German-speaking countries, provides.
Together with Thomas Blümel, whom I already introduced to you in the report on the fine dining event at Caspar’s, Eckhard Fischer conjures up special dishes that are both perfect according to Ayurvedic healing teachings, but still offer variety and do not contain rice every day.
Eckhard Fischer has learned in the 80’s and 90’s from the then most famous doctors and professors, as well as gurus of the ayurvedic teachings and developed the art of cooking as an important part of the ayurvedic healing art and was largely responsible for the success in Germany.
After stations in India, among others in an ashram in New Delhi and as head chef since 1989 in the first large Ayurveda clinic in Sasbachwalden and further stations in Germany, Eckhard Fischer now complements the team in the Gräflichen Park Grand Resort.
He has also shown me how varied and delicious Ayurvedic cuisine can be and what one should also pay attention to in private nutrition.

If you are looking for relaxation and inner peace, you will find Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar and Eckhard Fischer, two absolute luminaries of the Ayurvedic healing art, in the middle of North Rhine-Westphalia in a dreamlike park.
Especially in today’s fast-paced world, it is absolutely good to switch off once in a while, to find yourself deeply and to gather new strength. Often it is not a big change, but small things in the diet, sports or daily routine, which give the body on the one hand the recovery, but on the other hand new strength and health.
After the treatments, simply sitting in the park, taking a deep breath and concentrating on yourself is fantastic.
For me it was a new and very interesting experience and I can imagine that many of you will also find a completely new way of thinking about your own health after the first reflections. I can only recommend you to try it once and collect your own experiences – maybe with Vaidya Kumaran Rajsekhar.
