Just a few steps away from my hotel, the Regent Hotel, is the Borchardt Restaurant. I had heard a lot about the restaurant, especially that you should definitely eat here and that you would meet most of the celebrities in Berlin here. I was curious to see what would await me and what celebrities would probably be so into.

It was a really nice summery evening and so we had a reservation in the courtyard. We walked through the restaurant, to the popular courtyard. The Borchardt Restaurant inside looked cozy and a bit quaint. You can see the charm of the 150 years and it feels somewhat historical. So here sat 150 years ago already the important royals and today then the important celebrities and influencers.

In the summer, the interior was empty, because everyone just wanted to sit in the courtyard in the air. So there was a place to retreat if it should still rain. Our table was almost in the middle and set for a larger group. The menu was well laid out, but just right with lots of local food, as Berlin Cuisine. One automatically came a little closer to the other guests and the service staff, which is certainly desired by many.
So I was able to get an overview of the dishes that were carried past us. Whether a Caeser salad, fresh tartar, 1100 gram tomahawk steaks and T-bone steaks or dishes with shrimp. I was eager to try a typical classic, the Wiener Schnitzel with chanterelles, or Schnitzel à la Holstein. I immediately understood why it is one of the most popular dishes at Borchardt.
High celebrity density at Borchardt Restaurant Berlin
The overall mood at Borchardt Restaurant was very laid back and relaxed. The guests here are as you know Berlin, colorful. An absolutely colorful mix of politicians, musicians, journalists, actors, celebrities like Tom Cruise or Johnny Depp, influencers and just normal Berliners and tourists. The Berlin fits Berlin perfectly and I understand why it is always mentioned as a restaurant recommendation. It’s unexcitingly invigorating and with Berlin charm.
If you think it’s the perfect place to meet the stars, I’d advise you not to lurk here. Everyone who is here just wants to have a relaxed time with special people and be human. Good food, good service and a cool location with cool people in Berlin.
Berlin is always worth a trip – even culinary
