You have already seen the first photo of the Bentley Continental GT Speed driving experience yesterday via Twitter and it was a really great car event. I was invited by BENTLEY and SPG for a driving experience with their new cars, especially for a driving experience in the new Bentley Continental GT Speed. The absolute fastest and most interesting supercar from Bentley.
The starting point for the driving experience was the Munich airport – directly between terminal 1 and 2 – where the different Bentley models were already parked. It was really interesting to see how many people were standing around the barrier taking pictures (officially only for the kids of course… 🙂 ) and then of course entering the Bentley premises for the driving experience.
Bentley Continental GT Speed driving experience
After a pleasant breakfast and a meeting with my co-pilot (professional test driver) I could choose my preferred car and chose the new Bentley Continental GT Speed with 625hp (top speed 330km/h) in red. The yellow one was snatched from under my nose, but somehow red is really my color. I wonder if that’s why I had already painted my nails red.
It was amusing to see the faces when I got into the Bentley with my elegant black dress and left the airport. My look is certainly not one of the typical drivers and test drivers who come here to check out the cars. But a luxury car and supercar should finally feel comfortable with the driver.
At least I had combined my black dress with warm tights, because it was going to be a muddy day, which you really don’t want for a driving experience. Of course, I still had my sneakers in my handbag, which I naturally exchanged for my high heels with the red sole before the ride.
During the tour and test drive on the German autobahns towards Salzburg, you got a great feel for the car. The intense acceleration (faster than most Ferraris!) and the great craftsmanship in the interior and the little amenities in the car. Pure luxury and thus super classy and high quality work. You realize you’re sitting in a luxury car that few drive in everyday life.
Conclusion – Bentley Continental GT Speed driving experience
In my opinion it is a very big advantage to have a professional test driver as a co-pilot, who can explain much more about the car, the limits and how to get more feeling for the car. After just a few minutes you realize – why BENTLEY is special and why it is so much fun to drive the Bentley Continental GT Speed. The acceleration and the luxury driving experience is uniquely special. You enjoy the moments on the country roads and the good roadholding of the Bentley. You can feel the weight that the car brings to the road, making it pleasantly classy and quiet to drive. Once again, a completely different driving experience than in the Audi A8L or the BMW M6.
After returning to Munich airport in the afternoon, the same reaction awaited me. Curious people who looked at the colorful Bentley and observed expectantly, whether one can probably park with it again properly in reverse. Finally, lunch with the nice people from Bentley and a debriefing.
I enjoyed the driving experience with the Bentley Continental GT Speed extremely much and now I have a feeling for how the Bentley sports car feels on the road. I can tell you that my enthusiasm lasted even longer and despite everything, I suspect that I will not own and drive a Bentley directly in the long run. The experience was great, but I will be looking at more sports cars.
