La Veranda Restaurant is the name of the lovely courtyard restaurant in the FourSeasons Hotel. It already sounds promising for a special restaurant or even a special cuisine. But this is exactly how it can be described, located on the first floor, all tables with a direct view of the beautiful courtyard and a friendly welcome when entering “La Veranda”.
La Veranda Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Milan is run by one of the most famous chefs, international cuisine, Sergio Mei with his 28-member team and conjures up new delicacies with an individual touch every day.

Looking at the history of Sergio Mei, you understand a lot about the different dishes and the incredible attention to detail. When he came to Milan in 1967 at the age of 14 (!), he knew, in this city I want to be a chef and run a restaurant one day. His great “luck” was perhaps that he was not allowed to visit the usual cooking schools, but to learn from the great chefs for years.
Starting as a dishwasher, he still refers to four special chefs as his inspirations, including Frédy Girardet from Switzerland, known as one of the best chefs in the world, Joel Robuchon, owner of 18 prestigious restaurants, and the equally famous chefs Paul Bocuse and Italian Angelo Paracucchi.
After the special apprenticeship years, he then gained his “international” experience in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, among others, but also in India and Japan. These influences are still noticeable today in the presentation of the dishes, as well as the special flavors.
In the same way he puts together his kitchen team, it is not important that the person is the best cook, but that he fits into the team. Cooking can be learned, the “humanity” must be possessed.
These experiences and attitudes to life can then be found in the kitchen and in “La Veranda Restaurant” in the Four Seasons Hotel Milan.

The menu for the evening then reads like a journey through special “Italian” cuisine – it was really very hard for me to choose. It all sounded absolutely fantastic.
Decisions made afterwards included “Steamed Lobster Composition with Catalan Style Salad”, “Fettuccine Pasta with Lobster, Cherry Tomatoes and Basil”, and “Beef Filet Tagliata with Reduced Porto Sauce and Stewed Eggplants” and for dessert of course 🙂 “Venetian Style Classic Tiramisu.”

I don’t think I’m giving too much away when I tell you that everything at La Veranda Restaurant tasted really perfect. I am generally a fan of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. If it was then cooked and served at such a top level, I am more than happy.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very luxurious. It was not too crowded, but you were also not alone. Quiet to talk, but also not too quiet that everyone could listen in.
A special menu, a culinary journey, a very interesting chef and a special evening are the memories of this day at the Four Seasons Milan and La Veranda Restaurant under the direction of Sergio Mei.
Matching the noble restaurant in Milan also my outfit for the evening. A black opaque wool dress with turtleneck and short sleeves. In addition, a thick jewelry bracelet, shiny tights and eye-catching Louboutin high heels. When you’re out and about in the fashion city of Milan, you know that as a woman you can enjoy being classy and elegantly styled. I hid my smartphone in my Michael Kors phone case, next to my most important cards.
P.S.: A special surprise is, of course, when you come to your room afterwards and find tea and dates as amenities for the evening and the end of the day (thank you very much for this!).
