A special island, a special hotel, a special car – taking a BMW M6 Gran Coupe for an island tour on SYLT is a beautiful experience. 575 hp would certainly not be necessary to get from A to B on Sylt once, but if you are looking for a nice driving experience, want to use a stylish car for Kampen, then the BMW 6 Gran Coupe from BUDERSAND Hotel in Hörnum is a perfect choice.
When you leave the hotel parking lot, you already notice the imposing sound, the track at the small harbor and through the village are limited to 30km / h, but this M6 wants to be moved. At the town exit, a light touch on the gas pedal and you immediately realize why this should be operated with greater caution. The slightest touch is enough and you can already feel 680 Nm of torque accelerating the car at 1500 rpm.
BMW M6 Gran Coupe driving experience
From 0 to 100km/h in just 4.0 seconds, to 200km/h in 11.5 seconds (which of course is not possible on Sylt) and yet you quickly notice – the accelerator pedal must be moved with feeling to feel all the power (without the energy in the slip control drying up).
On the winding roads from Hörnum to Westerland and then on to List, you can feel the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and start to enjoy it. A comfortable feeling for the trip and once you get used to the car and the almost 2000kg weight, you quickly want to drive longer distances with the Gran Coupe from BMW.
A top speed of 305 km/h will certainly not be reached too often on a leisurely and longer trip, but for the extended weekend with your partner or girlfriend, the trunk with almost 500 liters is also suitable. The fuel consumption of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe is almost 15 liters per 100 km (9.9 liters EU consumption) and is logically not suitable for continuous city driving.
Conclusion – BMW M6 Gran Coupe test drive on the island of Sylt
After the facts I can objectively say that the BMW M6 Gran Coupe is a great car for an island tour, for a drive to a great dinner or an event or just for a nice drive on a free highway and it’s fun to have it as a hotel guest at the Budersand Hotel on Sylt once for an island tour. The value of the car is about 140.000 EUR 🙂
So shortly before it goes to the visit to the Sansibar (which I will present to you separately), the opportunity arose for a few photos of my outfit with black leather pants, boots and a white polo shirt with a cozy jacket. For all of you who are worried about my shoes while driving, I can only say that I changed the shoes beforehand, of course, because it would be irresponsible to move such a car with high heels… 🙂 (that’s what sneakers are for then…) 🙂
My conclusion of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe is – a great car for a nice day on the island of Sylt, but you have already seen my favorite during the island tour and my days at the elbow near List… 🙂 The speed and acceleration of the BMW M6 is fascinating, but also a bit scary how fast your body is pressed into the seats and you really have to drive very concentrated.
I can absolutely understand why the car is so popular with many and causes a lot of adrenaline, however, for me personally, safety and comfort, as well as freedom and space while driving is still above the adrenaline. But for one afternoon you can give yourself that feeling and enjoy it. I wish you a lot of fun, if you can try the acceleration yourself once, but please not on narrow and winding roads.
