Leather pants are part of my everyday life because they are so versatile to combine and give any look a confident appearance. Leather pants and leather leggings are super easy to clean and stain resistant, which makes it so convenient for frequent travelers. I personally prefer to wear faux leather pants, also called pleather or fake leather, as they are often a bit more stretchy and less likely to wear out.
Matching the different seasons and even times of day, I also have my different favorites. Some pants made of leather are better suited for spring, some styles more for autumn and in the evening hours or at events, it may also be the time to wear shiny patent pants or a beautiful latex leggings. But what are the differences and how to combine these pants very advantageous.

Difference leather pants, patent pants, latex pants
Leather pants and faux leather pants are absolutely suitable for everyday wear for me. The shine is nice, but not too extremely flashy shiny. With patent pants, which feel similar to faux leather pants, the shine is even more intense. The smooth top layer makes you look like you’ve been oiled up, and your curves are even more in focus. For me, patent pants are meant for special looks that are more suited to the evening hours.
Latex pants, on the other hand, are dull if not lubricated with silicone oil. However, hardly anyone wears dull latex, because the silicone oil shine is simply the special thing about it and the material hugs the body even tighter. Latex is not so by the material that you want to wear it all day, unlike patent and leather. Often, no difference is made between latex pants and patent pants in many articles, but the feel and also the look is completely different.
There are also some differences in price here. Genuine leather and custom latex are the expensive versions, followed by high quality faux leather pants and vinyl pants. There are also cheap alternatives of faux leather, patent pants and latex pants. In recent months and years, you can find more and more often, patent pants or faux leather pants, which are to put the buttocks especially in scene, but the quality usually falls by the wayside and you have only very short pleasure with it, if at all. The sizes very often do not fit at all and the wearing properties are rather mediocre.
Leather pants and leather leggings
In my closet you can find beside latex pants, latex leggings and vinyl pants of course some variants of leather pants and leather leggings. For me, leather pants have become an absolute all-rounder. Especially on my many trips I started to wear leather pants. They are so practically insensitive to dirt and you don’t have to look three times before sitting down. You can wipe almost everything off, even if you spill once in the kitchen while baking or get caught in the rain while shopping.
My faux leather pants also take up very little space in the suitcase and they are very light. You can wash them with a suitable detergent, but they hardly take on any odors. With real leather, the care is much more difficult. What bothers me most about real leather pants, however, is that they are super tight at first and then quickly wear out with body heat and no longer fit snugly to the body, regardless of whether they are tailored or off the rack.
I therefore like to prefer the stretchy faux leather variants, which are often visually hardly distinguishable from real leather. If you value a tight fit, you should definitely opt for a good pair of faux leather pants. They hug the legs and buttocks, do not wear out and even lift the buttocks often thereby a little more.
Do you prefer to wear leather pants in jeans style or leather leggings?
Leather pants in jeans style stand out because of the pockets on the buttocks and in the front. You can pull a nice belt through the belt pockets. With leggings, everything is quite smooth and the seams are discreetly unobtrusive. There are no pockets and no belt loops. Leggings are often meant to be worn with a longer top that falls loosely over them. With leather pants, tops such as a blouse can easily be tucked into the pants as well.
Combine leather pants correctly – how to combine leather pants?
I can tell you from my experience that it always depends on the reason, purpose and occasion. Many like to wear leather pants in the winter as an alternative to jeans. I like to combine my pants with a long-sleeved shirt or sweater in winter and wear a thick jacket and ankle boots with them.
In autumn and spring I prefer to wear leather leggings, which I then wear for example with a thick sweater, a blouse, a mesh top or even sporty with a hoodie. In summer I like to combine crop tops or summer tops with my leather leggings. When I’m out in the evening, I also like to combine corsages and elegant tops with leather leggings.
For me, it always depends on what I’m planning to do that day and where I’m wearing the pants. If I want to stand out, I like to choose a butt accentuating leggings. Should it be simple and practical, then rather a normal leather pants with a nice belt.
There are no limits to how you want to wear your leather pants. The most important thing is to feel comfortable. If you already look three times in the mirror to see if your butt is not too fat, then rather wear a longer top. If you don’t feel 100% comfortable, then unfortunately you will also radiate that. A woman in leather pants and leather leggings tends to look very tough and self-confident. Men in worn out leather pants look more rebellious to me than stylish. For men, I personally prefer other style directions.
For everyday wear, a black turtleneck sweater is my favorite to combine. For a business look, I like to combine a white blouse with a white top underneath, so I can just take the blouse off after the meeting if necessary. And if it can be even hotter, I prefer to wear my leather pants combined only with a leather bra.
I love to walk on high heels, so in summer I prefer to wear my designer pumps in various colors with the pants. In autumn, winter and spring I like to wear ankle boots and knee high boots that are impervious to rain and snow. Over the knee boots I wear rather rarely with pants, because my thigh high boots are all cut quite tight and it can then quickly become uncomfortable.
Leather pants and faux leather pants are simply part of me and my style. I feel very comfortable when I wear them and am well equipped for any situation.
CONCLUSION – Which leather pants for which season?
Basically, as always with fashion, feel comfortable in your clothes! If you personally like the look, you also radiate it to the outside. No matter whether pants or leggings, whether a combination with a wide oversized sweater or a beautiful blouse, leather pants or leather leggings can be combined in many ways always beautiful. For this purpose, the pants and leggings simply belong in the luggage, as a good alternative for a nice evening or even for a spontaneous meeting with friends.
Unfortunately, there is no perfect model of pants for every body and I also needed some time to find my favorite manufacturers – until then it’s just – try and have fun!
