Hair extensions experience at Shan Rahimkhan the famous Hairdresser in Berlin. The dream of every woman who likes long hair – to get even hair extensions and thickening thanks to extensions. Not every woman has exactly the long, thick and healthy hair that she would like to have herself. This is exactly why many also opt for a short hairstyle instead of continuing to go for long hair. Of course, I have to admit that a short hairstyle usually looks dashing, modern and practical – but an alternative to long hair, it was so far only once in my life. Since then, I’ve let my hair grow long again. I much prefer to see myself with long hair.
Especially towards winter, I notice that the hair becomes thinner. Despite the best care products, the hair does not look as full as one would like it to be. Fortunately, I now had the opportunity to try extensions from Hairdreams. My anticipation was naturally great, because I had already tried extensions of another brand a few times and knew exactly that it will give a really nice overall picture afterwards. Finally, thick, full and long hair again.

Two weeks before the insertion I was already at Shan Rahimkhan at the Ku-Damm in Berlin. There was a detailed preliminary discussion and a color determination, as well as length determination. It was already considered whether I would like to have a fringe cut, as this would then have an impact on the insertion of the extensions. We already agreed on a side fringe. It’s not so bad to prepare for a change at the hairdresser for another good two weeks.
Nalie was in charge of me since she has the most experience over the last few years putting in extensions. We decided on black to dark brown hair, she would even mix it up a bit if necessary. For length we decided on 45cm and 50-75 strands.
There we would look flexible, which looks better when the first 50 strands are processed. I would have liked to sit immediately, but since the extensions need at least a day between order to delivery to the salon, the wait would have been a bit long.
After two weeks I stood again in front of the hairdressing salon of Shan Rahimkhan at Kürfürstendamm and could hardly wait to sit on the hairdresser’s chair again – surely this was not only due to the icy cold temperatures in Berlin. I was first supplied with coffee and already Nalie arrived with the hair strands. What struck me first: the strands looked really thick and long. With Hairdreams, the hair does not get thinner towards the end, as I knew it before. I was ready. I was going to try it…
Extensions hairdresser in Berlin – hair extensions
To begin with, the hair is washed thoroughly. At Shan, each client gets a gown on for the duration of the visit to protect their own clothes. All residues of care products, silicones and the like must now be thoroughly washed out of the hair. You can almost compare it with a hair peeling. Permanently, you should not use the cleansing shampoo, because it can then dry out the hair.
After washing, the hair must now be blow-dried really well. At the same time, Nalie gives me helpful tips on how I can blow-dry more volume – and do it without whipping my arms out. For one thing, I can use a brush and just build up the volume at the roots, or I could try using large hot rollers.
It’s always a struggle with me early in the morning…. is it already enough with the drying, the hair already have enough hold – oh it will work out. Now with a few handles, it is much easier and above all even more thorough.
The hair is dry. We discuss how I prefer to wear my hair: open or in a high braid. This is important for Nalie to apply the hair extensions in the right places. You shouldn’t be able to see the glued areas afterwards. The hair is partly pinned up to determine the right height for the extensions.
Now the hot glue gun comes into play! Ok, that would be a bit of an exaggeration, but at first glance you could almost think it. The Laserbeamer Nano makes a very futuristic impression and attaches 5 strands of hair at the same time. The adhesive points are called bondings. The attachment of the strands does not hurt, it just pulls a little when the bondings are released from the laser beamer again.
After and still 50 strands are now attached to the hair extension. We have decided that 50 strands are absolutely enough to get a nice overall look. If I want even more strands, the braid will be thicker again – it’s enough for me as it is now. The hair looks full and very long, although my real hair was also long, the hair now seems only really long. In between, Nalie explained to me all the open questions I had about the extensions or even hair in general.
Now we came to the cut. The long hair of the hair extension was adjusted, that in the back was the same length and towards the front it became a little more stepped. I got a slight side fringe. The hair was then still curled with the ghd hair styling Curve.
I don’t really need to use a heat protector because the hair is also loaded with heat protection. The heat protection usually gives the hair more hold when styling. A beautiful result with gorgeous hair – of course I was happy about my new hair. Of course, now I still have to get used to my full hair a little again, but the feeling is really good.
A few facts about hair extension, hair thickening and extensions:
The bondings are the most sensitive – if you want to air dry your hair, you should blow dry or dry the bondings so they don’t soften up
The extra hairs now have no root and therefore need nutrients from the outside
The brush must not have knobs on the ends, otherwise the brush can get caught in the hair.
Tidy the extensions daily and always brush them carefully, holding them at the hairline.
Do not wash your hair overhead, as the extensions will then become knotted and your own hair will be strained.
To sleep, make a deep light braid at the nape of the neck and then sleep on the hair so that the hair roots are not further stressed – a braided hairstyle also helps
Beware of extreme heat on the bonds. Straightener and curling iron better not use directly at the hairline. You should also reduce the heat of the hair dryer when drying the bonds.
When shampooing, it is best to use a special care series – in any case, use shampoo without alcohol, as this can dissolve the bondings.
The hair extension lasts about 4-6 months. The hair continues to grow out with your own hair. Since your own hair, which you lose, does not fall down, it can come to tangles at the roots. You should go to the hairdresser every 6-8 weeks for a check-up to have the dead roots removed.

The first few days after the hair extensions are put in, the feeling is still a little strange and the bondings still hurt a little, but after a few days you no longer have a strange feeling. With my first extensions, every time I washed my hair, I thought about who the hair must have belonged to before.

A really great result from the hair extensions and I can understand more and more why the stars and celebrities feel so comfortable at this hairdresser. Shan really is a true celebrity hairstylist. I am looking forward to at least 4-6 months with my new long hair and wonder if I will really have shorter hair someday? What do you think?
