You can now go normally in the profile under “Followers”, find all followers listed there again and see not only the option to follow the person himself, but three dots behind the “Follow” button.

If you click on the three dots, a message “Remove subscriber?” appears in the current window. – Instagram does … Not informing that he/she has been removed as a subscriber.” – to which then the Remove/Cancel choices.
