Restyling with Balayage strands as a summer hairstyle. Reasons for a restyling or a type change there are always different with women and often it is about “reinventing”. For me, after many years, it was also time to change a little the type of black long hair, to a new, warmer style. It should be a new summer hairstyle, brighter and friendlier. When would be the opportunity better than after removing my extensions, which I had the last 6 months.
For me very important is of course, a hairstylist with a great team who will clearly tell me if it works with my hair or not. So who could be better suited for this than Shan Rahimkhan with his staff in Berlin at Kurfürstendamm, with whom I decided to do “Ombre Balayage Hair Paintings”.
My typical look is long black hair, red fingernails and red lips – just a little “Snow White Look”. For the past few years, I’ve had dark brown to black hair throughout. Strands and flashy hair colors I have a felt eternity ago the last time tried. With my dark hair I have felt very comfortable the last few years and could if necessary even once a little tint, if I was not near the hairdresser of my confidence.
Restyling Ombre Balayage Hair Paintings
Just at the end of last year I got black 45cm extensions to support the dark look. After five months, my hair had grown so well that it was time to remove the extensions. Since I knew that the feeling without extensions (there were still 50 strands) was always unfamiliar at the beginning – came the thought to directly change everything a little bit and also to have the hair generally a little shorter…. Why have to change twice, if you can combine both the same.
I had a slight idea of what I would like and I showed it to Nalie, my stylist (who you also already know from the video clip) at Shan Rahimkhan. It should look just overall friendlier and looser, as well as fresh and healthy. Well-groomed and natural, in addition noble and stylish. Well combinable for the various events, not too short, but also quickly times before an event itself still style – in addition, an interesting color. Maybe a light stringy caramel tone?
Summer hairstyle – type change
While I was first removed the long black extensions Nalie could think about what you could do with my hair nice. Due to the regular cleaning cuts while wearing the extensions, they were not matted and removing them absolutely did not pull. The feeling of my own hair without hair extensions was, as expected, sobering. That my hair would not remain long, was thus clear to me – ten to fifteen centimeters could be removed quietly. It no longer looked healthy and no one wants to have unhealthy hair.
Before we wanted to think about the hair length, however, Nalie began to put me strands. Once upon a time I had cap strands – how nice, these times are long gone. Back then, thin strands of hair were pulled through a plastic cap with a crochet hook. Each time an unpleasant and painful procedure that I do not even want to remember back…. Today it was going to be a mixture of different strands.
Foil strands mixed with balayage strands for a nice ombre like look. With the Ombre Hair Look only the tips are lightened, with the Balayage Look the entire strand. To me, the Balayage look looks like a classy Ombre look and therefore the perfect Beach Hair look. The pure ombre look in the tips often leaves the feeling of outgrown strands – and less classy and elegant. I asked Nalie directly what system to use and how many strands to set – she just does it all by feel and how the strands fall and after the various appointments with Shan and his team, my confidence was absolutely high.
After the lengthy application of the strands, the hair was wrapped in foil at the end and the whole head was wrapped to help the heat and blonde work better. Even though I am still a little “suspicious” of the “heater” that was supposed to warm me up for the next few minutes, after I was almost grilled once many years ago, there was also time for me to read some special fashion magazines. For the lightening of my hair was chosen by Nalie a light oxidant to bleach the hair as gently as possible.
After that, it was on to the wash out. I’m not a hairdressing professional, but I’m happy to explain in my own words what happened next. The hair was matted – a mixture of oxidant, gloss and color were added to the hair. Friction again creates heat, which helps lighten. Two passes took place and finally a good conditioning treatment for the hair.
I was of course super excited to see how extreme the strands are now? Really blond, or more subtle? Would one perhaps even see nothing at all? If you lie some time then so, the hair is washed again and again, you automatically start to think about the new hairstyling. I was just glad that I was in good hands with Shan Rahimkhan and his team for Ombre Balayage Hair Paintings… it calmed me down immensely.
Result – Ombre Balayage Hair Paintings Makeover
Nalie took the towel from me. Actually, it looked almost the same to me as before – (a brief disappointment?) – hopefully it wasn’t all for nothing? First, it was now about the length – you could see exactly where too much color had accumulated at the tips in recent years – that simply had to go. Not only because of the slight color difference, but also because the hair structure was no longer healthy.
Even though I was already very fond of my long hair, I did not cry when it parted with me 🙂 . Honestly, I have not even really perceived it, because for me it was clear that a good piece must be cut off. In the end, it was probably 15 centimeters or a little more…
But did the color stay so dark now? Of course it didn’t. With wet hair it really continues to look dark with a slight brown sheen. But with every minute of blow-drying, the result became clearer. A really warm shade – the definition of the color was not so easy for us: caramel? Rosewood? We agreed on “copper-gold blonde”! Finally, we added a few curls. I can’t wait to try out my new styling tools with my new hair. Which devices I mean, you will find out very soon.
The type change with new summer hairstyle and the Ombre Balayage Hair Paintings definitely stands out. I could get used to the look in the mirror immediately. It was still me, but with exactly the change I was hoping for. Ombre like hair thanks to Balayage Hair Paintings, but just not only in the tips, but throughout the hair.
I immediately looked at the new Balayage color still in the sun – really beautiful. Finally something different and 100 percent “me”. The look immediately looks warmer and friendlier, the reactions in the first hours absolutely positive and many of you have also been able to experience it live on Snapchat.

That’s all you really want when you want a type change. Happy and satisfied. As happy as I left the salon of Shan Rahimkhan on Kurfürstendamm in the fall after my extensions, at the various stylings for the Fashionweek in Berlin or the ITB travel fair in Berlin, so it was again this time.
For me, in addition to a very good styling, the climate in the salon is always quite crucial. Even the perfect haircut, the perfect Balayage color or the best Ombre Balayage Hair Paintings would not be a reason for me to go to a salon again if I did not feel comfortable as a guest. At Salon am Kurfürstendamm, it’s just the complete package – friendly staff to every guest, always a personal word from Shan, and perfect stylings as you would expect….
I have been to the salon a few times now and have been absolutely thrilled every time. If you drive from Munich or Frankfurt to Berlin each time to get your hair styled – I guess that says it all….
